Free After-School String Programs

We’ve established 7 free after-school string programs at Title I schools throughout Utah.

Our programs are all led by high-school musicians!

Lincoln Violinists

This was our very first after-school violin program, established in the fall of 2021 by Audrey Su. Every year, it has taught 12-15 amazing students between grades 2-5. In the fall of 2024, it will be led by Vice President Daniel Ha.

Sandy Violinists

Our newest violin program, started in 2023, is led by Annie Lin and Zoe Merkley, teaching some of our youngest students!

M. Lynn Bennion Cellists

Vice President Brooke Schwartz started our cello division in 2022, writing her own curriculum and leading a cello program at Bennion Elementary! Unfortunately, Bennion is closing, so we will be moving to East Midvale Elementary in the fall under the leadership of Atticus Bradley and Kai McMullin.

Layton Violinists

Founded in 2022 by Olivia Swindler, this was our first program in the Davis area. Although Layton Elementary no longer qualified as a Title I school in 2023, we are so happy to have had outreach in Northern Utah!

Western Hills Violinists

Third-grade teacher Ms. Kristin Schaeffer started her own orchestra at Western Hills, and we had the wonderful opportunity to work with her students! We truly admire her dedication towards musical equity and thank her for this amazing collaboration.
